Often difficult to detect, the elusive leopard is a highlight of any safari adventure. Often found hiding in the trees, seeing this graceful member of the Big 5 requires a little bit of luck and preferably some seasoned guides who know their hiding spots. With this in mind, it’s all the more impressive that the participants of this year’s Africa’s Photographer of the Year (APOTY) competition managed to capture some incredible photos of this big cat. If all spots tend to look the same, read about the difference between a cheetah and a leopard here.
